The Taoist method of the Celestial Immortal of the Azure Essence teaches that over two thousand two hundred years, ten individuals have been passed down this secret. If such a person does not exist, the secret must not be revealed. When a person is found, they may impart this to ten others in one day, but after that, they cannot pass it on again. Those who receive this knowledge must make an oath, vowing to keep it secret and to have a teacher with a proper method. They must present thirty feet of azure silk and two pairs of gold talismans as tokens of their oath. If the teachings are shared with someone unworthy or if the precious texts are leaked, the offender will be punished in the afterlife, becoming a lower spirit, and will be buried beneath the stones of the mountains, filling the river of night.
All who receive the teachings must fast for ten days, as must the one who imparts them, after which they can transmit the knowledge. The recipe includes eighty-one parts of Ying Dan, thirty-two parts of Tong Cao, twenty-eight parts of Xi Xin, thirty-eight parts of Gan Jiang, and twelve parts of Pao Pu Huang, combined with the juice of Sheng Di Huang and formed into pills. Take twenty-eight pills twice daily. After a thousand days, one will be able to smell the scent from a hundred paces away. After ten thousand days, one will be able to discern good from evil upon smelling herbs.
The True Man of Tai Chi says: Those who receive the life essence from the five grains must nurture and bear the energy of the grains; this includes the true transformations and the subtle moisture of the grains. If a child relies solely on their parents, they will inevitably absorb their essence. To disregard the original source and abandon the conditions of one’s birth leads to exhaustion and the destruction of one's fate! Therefore, one should follow the source, refine their essence, and gently cultivate it, allowing the vital energies to be easily refined in daily life, gradually transforming the grains within.
Thus, those who rely on grains to transcend them are practicing a wonderful art, and those who remove the original source by relying on it are cultivating the marvel of life! Therefore, one should fan the light of the south candle, summon the primordial spirit of the first teeth, allow the five liquids to blend harmoniously, and open the gates of the hundred pathways. The spirit will dance joyfully, and the soul will find peace.
Additionally, rinse with the essence of the morning and drink the spiritual essence in the evening, beat the drum in the jade pool, and breathe in the profound clarity. The flourishing child follows the rules, filling the emptiness with the rich essence. Thus, a thousand calculations in one opening, life lengthens with glory, and the years advance with the medicine, leading one to the realm of immortals. Once one has consumed a complete dose, their life will not diminish; they will be born of the five clouds, with a body and spirit that are pure and clear, able to eat for a long time and flow through the hundred gates without hunger throughout the year, returning to youth and innocence. When food is present, eat; when not, remain at peace. This is the miraculous method of the true celestial immortal, the wondrous spirit of transcending grains!"
