Taoist Meditation Grasping the solid

Grasping the Solid Method (Wogu Method)- by Karen Ko

The Grasping the Solid Method is usually a hand gesture used for health preservation. Generally, it involves placing the thumb inside the four fingers and gripping it in the palm, with the other four fingers bent. The tip of the thumb should rest at the base of the index, middle, ring, and little fingers, and the thumb should be held firmly. When practicing this method, be careful not to apply too much force; stay within your comfort range and proceed gradually. This technique is not restricted by time or place and can be practiced anytime, anywhere. It’s best to do it for more than five minutes at a time, and if done during meditation, it’s recommended to hold the gesture for over thirty minutes.

The thumb joint also presses against the base of the index finger. The base of the ring finger to connect with the jueyin, which is associated with the liver soul (Hun).
