8 Trigram Body Types Xun 巽卦

The symbolic song of the Xun trigram in the Bagua is "Xunxia duan," which means "wind" in its original sense. In the Five Elements, it belongs to the wood element. The Xun trigram has two yang lines at the top, with a broken yin line in the middle at the bottom. Xun represents the Jueyin Liver Meridian (near the kidneys) and plays an auxiliary role for the Gallbladder and Pericardium meridians.

In both the Early and Later Heaven Bagua, it occupies a peripheral position. Its symbol is heavy at the bottom and light at the top, with a slightly wavering, wind-like quality. It also represents two yang lines rising above a single yin, similar to how "wind" moves across the ground. In its original meaning, wind can also be extended to symbolize entry, as wind penetrates all openings without restriction.

The Xun trigram belongs to the wood element in the Five Elements, representing spring and morning in terms of time. In the human body, it corresponds to the liver and gallbladder. Its directional association is with the southeast, and in the animal kingdom, it corresponds to the rooster or other birds. The color associated with Xun is green or blue.

As Xun represents wind, which changes rapidly, people with this constitution tend to have quick emotional changes and may have a tendency to lose their temper. In daily life, managing emotions effectively is very important. However, Xun-type individuals generally have good health, characterized by abundant energy and vitality.

Since Xun is predominantly yang with less yin, individuals with this constitution may have slightly shorter lifespans, though still longer than those with a Li (fire) constitution.

Xun is associated with wind, and wind affects the liver. Therefore, Xun-type individuals are often prone to symptoms caused by external wind triggering internal wind, as well as allergic conditions. Their adaptability and sensitivity also make them more susceptible to neurological disorders such as neurasthenia and hysteria. Additionally, they may be prone to high blood pressure.

For individuals with a Xun constitution, it is recommended to choose suitable ingredients for daily nourishment. Suitable foods include chicken (which helps with various gynecological conditions and male kidney deficiency), mulberries, mushrooms, and buckwheat
